About this Privacy Notice

We at Circle Network AB (“Circle”, “we”, “us”) respect your integrity. This Privacy Notice for Circle Network AB describes how we collect, use and process personal data when you use and sign up for the application. It is important that you read this before you use our service and you are more than welcome to contact us is you have any questions.

Responsibility for the handling of personal data

Circle is the controller of personal data processing. As such are we responsible for ensuring that the processing is compliant with applicable laws in relation to personal data.

Important information about your responsibilities while using Circle

You are not allowed to use Circle to conduct any illegal activity. You also may not use Circle in any way that might be illegal under local and international laws. If you suspect that this is or might happen, you need to remove Circle from your device. You are therefore responsible for all the actions you perform while using our app, and Circle will not be responsible for any actions you take while using the platform.

It is also important to you as the user to know that we will do everything we can do to fix issues you might be having with Circle. As like every technology company, we can not guarantee our product will always function properly. Although, if you do face any problems or bugs, please inform our support. We will then try to fix the problems as soon as possible. It is also important to note that if your device does not support any of our features, there is nothing we can do.

Circle’s app is the property of Circle. You are therefore under any circumstances not allowed to modify, alter, decompile, or perform reverse engineering procedures on this application. This also means that you are not allowed to distribute the application in original or modified versions. This may result in a copyright violation which we will take lawful action against.

What types of personal data we collect

To offer you our product we need to collect and process information about you. What types of information we process depends on how you use our app.


We collect content, communication, and other information that you leave when you:

 

  • Register an account,

  • Create or share content,

  • Send messages or communicate with other users,

  • When you’ve completed your profile, you have the option to share additional information like your interests and other details about you,


This includes information about the content you share, for example the place for a photo or a date a file was created. This can also include collecting data from your camera to personalize your experience by analyzing what you like.


Circle will additionally access your contacts to create backups of contacts, and to restore the backups. We will also access your contacts to match messages to contacts and display message information under contact names.


Our system automatically collects and analyzes the data that you provide for the purposes listed below.

  • FOREGROUND & BACKGROUND LOCATION (iOS and Android)

  • ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION (iOS and Android)

  • IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS (Android)

The purpose of the collections of personal data

  • We process your User Credentials and User Generated Data to be able to provide and administer the Service in a safe manner and make your experience as a user the best it could be.

  • We process your User Credentials, User Generated Data and Contact Information to be able to provide the service to you as a user.

  • We process the information about the users, accounts, hashtags, pages and Circles you are connected to help you find other users you may know.

  • We process information about how you use our products, for example what type of content you enjoy, functions you use, actions you do, users you communicate with, how much time you spend and at what frequency you perform your activities.

  • We process information others leave about you. We collect and analyze content, communications and information other users provide. This can include information about you.

  • We process User Credentials and User Generated Data to be able to assess, further develop and enhance our service.

As mentioned above, the main reason we use your information is to deliver and continuously improve to deliver the best possible experience for you when using our app. Another reason is to protect you and provide you with advertising that may be of interest to you. The collection of data is additionally necessary for the performance of our product.


We also do this to administer your account and be able to provide our services to you. This helps you connect with other users, ensures a consistent experience across your various devices and to provide new Circle services to you. This is also to prevent, detect and fight fraud or other illegal or unauthorized activates and ensure legal compliance.

If you want to limit the processing of user- generated data or object to direct marketing.

You can always reach out to us and request to access all data associated with your account. If there is certain data or such, that the user does not want us to process, we will try to do our best to comply. If we can not guarantee that we will not still process the data or such in question, we can help them delete their account and their associated data. Keep in mind that we will always strive to help our users with these request to the best of our ability.

Who do we share your personal data with?

Circle: Your personal data will be processed by us (or a subcontractor) on our instruction. Everyone who processes your data are under contractual arrangements and are only allowed to process data for the purposes stated above. Furthermore, we will not access more personal data than is required for the performance of the service covered by the agreement with Circle.

Government agencies: Circle may share your personal data with government agencies such as the police, the tax authority, or other authorities, if we are required to do so by law or if you have agreed that we do so. We may furthermore share your personal data in good faith if we believe that it is necessary to protect our or your rights, protect your security or the safety of others, investigate crimes, or respond to a government request. The government agencies that may get this personal data is after the transfer the entity that controls further processing which means that it is not Circle who governs how your personal data is processed if shared with an authority.Thus, if your personal data is shared with authorities, this Privacy Notice will not cover that subsequent processing.


Other companies and third parties: Circle will not sell, trade or in any other wats forward you personal data to other parties unless you separately have agreed to such a transfer.

Cookies and similar Data Collections Technologies

We use and may allow others to use cookies and similar technologies to recognize you and/or your device. More information about our cookies is described in the cookie policy.

How we protect your personal data

We constantly work hard to keep you protected from unauthorized access to or alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information. As we are a technology company, and as mentioned take several steps to secure your information, we cannot promise, and you should not expect that your personal information always remains secure.


We monitor our systems consistently to try and localize possible vulnerabilities and/or attacks and regularly review our information collection, storage and processing practices to update our physical, technical and organizational security measures.

How long we keep your personal data

We will keep your data for as long as you have an account with us. If you request to remove your account and data attached to it, we will keep your data for an additional 30 days, in case of change of mind, then permanently delete it.

Changes to the privacy policy

Since we always want to innovate and improve to help you build meaningful connections, this policy may change over time. We will notify you ahead of any changes to this agreement.
